Benefits of Membership

The Sustainable Buildings and Construction Initiative (SBCI) brings together stakeholders from all phases of buildings' life span. It provides them with a common platform to work together with UNEP to identify opportunities for change towards sustainability, and develop mechanisms for realizing those opportunities. Members take an active part in developing and defining the Initiative's work programme according to their interest.

Through SBCI, members are taking an active role in shaping the market of sustainable buildings and construction and have a cross-cutting access to cooperation with other key players engaged in sustainable development. By their common work with UNEP through this Initiative, they will contribute to the way the issues linked to the sector will be addressed in the international debates on climate change and create inputs to international and national strategies for meeting other global challenges.

How to join SBCI ?

By joining SBCI, you will benefit from the latest tools, strategies and news on sustainable buildings and construction worldwide and acquire priority access to pilot and demonstration projects and partnerships worldwide.

To become a member, companies are required to register their interest to the SBCI secretariat and pay the annual membership fee, which is used to fund the work programme and the day-to-day management of the Initiative.

  Multinational Companies US$ 30.000
  National Companies US$ 15.000
  Others US$ 5.000

You are more than welcome to become an actor of the UNEP Sustainable Buildings and Construction Initiative, by developing joint strategies, guidelines and concrete innovations to build a sustainable world for future generations.
