CHANGE OF VENUE - SBCI ANNUAL MEETING
We have in the last 24hrs had to shift the venue for the upcoming SBCI round-tables, annual meeting and outreach meetings from Saint Lucia to the neighboring Island of Martinique. This is due to the Government of Saint Lucia withdrawing their support at the last minute due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’. We are following up with the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia to find out more about why this occurred. [follow this link to get all details] |
What follows is the original announcement/invitation, follow this link to get more info...
The United Nations Environment Programme, Sustainable Buildings and Construction Initiative(SBCI) and The Government of Saint Lucia are pleased to announce the annual meeting of SBCI at:
Sandals Grand Hotel at Pigeon Point, Gros Islet Saint Lucia, Caribbean, on the 8th - 12th April 2008.
According to the SBCI Charter, the annual meeting will receive reports from the SBCI board on activities, budget use, and achievements in the 12 past months. SBCI members will also decide on the work programme and budget of SBCI for 2008/09, and elect the SBCI Board for the next 12 months.
In addition to the annual meeting itself, we are also pleased to invite you to our Think Tank round-table discussions on April 8th and 9th. These focus on buildings and climate change, policy tools for building energy efficiency and sustainability performance benchmarking. These roundtables will present the outcomes of reports on promoting energy-efficiency projects using the Cleaner Development Mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol, effective policy instruments for greenhouse emission reduction from buildings, and current status of minimum sustainability performance benchmarks for buildings. An outreach event to Latin American Countries will be held on the 11th April.
We hope you are able to join us in Saint Lucia in April and look forward to a very fruitful meeting. |
