Benefits of Membership

The Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative (SBCI) brings together stakeholders from all phases of buildings' life span. It provides them with a common platform to work together with UNEP to identify opportunities for change towards sustainability, and develop mechanisms for realizing those opportunities. Members take an active part in developing and defining the Initiative's work programme according to their interest.

Through SBCI, members are taking an active role in shaping the market of sustainable buildings and construction and have a cross-cutting access to cooperation with other key players engaged in sustainable development. By their common work with UNEP through this Initiative, they will contribute to the way the issues linked to the sector will be addressed in the international debates on climate change and create inputs to international and national strategies for meeting other global challenges.
